93 points and one of Wine & Spirits 100 Best Buys of 2011: "Spice-a hint of tobacco, a hint of milk chocolate-gives way to a ripe set of fruit flavors in this big shouldered, thoroughly seductive red. The texture is driven by fine, peppery tannins, which stem the tide of ripe, plummy fruit, giving the wine a touch of elegance even as it remains irrestible. It's drinking beautifully now; a by-the-case buy." (06/11) A solid, everyday Cab that's instantly accessible from a great vintage, and that's lower in alcohol than many of its Napa Valley counterparts. A unique blend, this wine is dominated by Cab, but it is also subtly influenced by the inclusion of 9% Syrah, 7% Merlot, 3% Mourvedre, 2% Petit Verdot and 1% each Malbec and Grenache. Aged for 16 months in 32% new French oak, this has supple tannins and lots of Cab character, with plush fruit, meaty undertones and a healthy dollop of spice. Enjoy this plush wine wiith blue cheese burgers or duck mole.
