This Chardonnay comes from one of Napa Valley's best producers of the varietal. If you love Rombauer Chard (and so many do!), this will wow you as it's made in a similar style: on the rich side but this one has fine acidity to hold it together along with hazelnut aromas and toasty vanilla oak.

"The current, newly released Kalinda Chardonnay style is another rich, viscous, creamy, vanillin Chardonnay, but, once again as with the Santa Barbara production, with structure and depth of character. On the nose, it is lavish and distinctive, showing all the qualities mentioned above. In the mouth, you will be treated to a full-scaled Chardonnay that is broad, pronounced, and distinctively domestic without being overdone. Although this Chardonnay is sitting at 15% ABV, the intense and structured flavor profiles are as such, that the alcohol is buried in the richness of the wine. This Gem shows an incredible topical to white peach fruit presentation on the palate, with restrained vanillin, oaky tones that support the structure of this Gem, and leads to a long, warm finish. We have been sworn to absolute secrecy as to who this Chardonnay is coming from in Napa Valley, and it so definitely is of such quality to deserve a “Reserve” and special label. In fact, we lobbied Clyde to create a special red label for this Gem but he refused. The Beaner has informed me that this will be one of our house whites for however much time it is available." - It's hard to believe that up until about 30 years ago, this extremely popular varietal hid behind the veil of geographical names like Chablis and Puligny-Montrachet. Now grown all over the world and bottled by its varietal name, Chardonnay has achieved a level of branding unlike any other wine. Surprisingly, though, what you get when you buy Chardonnay can differ greatly from country to country and even within one country, depending on the climate where it's grown and how it is vinified and aged. From fresh, crisp and minerally with apple and lemon notes to rich and buttery with tropical fruit overtones, Chardonnay runs the gamut.
