Here we go again on another Four Roses adventure! Our third exclusive barreling takes us to formula OBSK - a mashbill of 60% corn, 35% rye, and 5% malted barley. OBSK is known for its rich spiciness and full body, and what makes this 9 year, 9 month old whiskey so fantastic is exactly that. Rich vanilla and spicy cinnamon are the first flavors to hit the palate and they intermingle with the wood all the way down the finish. Once again we've found a big winner that tastes nothing like the last two barrels we did. While #1 was full of red fruits and bananas and #2 gave us big power with an elegant mouthfeel, #3 is all about the sweet wood and the baking spices. Although this is a cask strength bourbon, the intensity of the richness is enough to stand up against the heat, allowing you to savor the flavor with or without the addition of water.
