91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Single vineyard estate fruit; scorched earth, balsamic, herbs, black fruits, awesome value." (10/10) Little known fact about Bonarda in Argentina - it is actually the same grape variety as Charbono here in California. So if you are a fan of big, sturdy wines, with robust, saturated purple colors and lots of flavor as well as character, you will probably enjoy this effort from Mendoza. Try this Bonarda and enjoy the big, intense, mulberry and plum fruit, with nicely balanced, savory meaty notes, and just a hint of a rustic "sauvage" quality. Before you know it, you'll be occasionally venturing away from Malbec and drinking much more of this stuff, just as they do in Argentina.
