2009 Comte Louis de Clermont-Tonnerre (Alain Corcia) "Cuvée Patricia" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (Previously $30)
90-93 points Robert Parker: "A blend of 70% Grenache, 25% Syrah, and 5% Mourvedre, the 2009 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Patricia shows perhaps the most intense, exuberant, and boisterous fruit and texture of the entire line-up. It is a rich, full-bodied, full-throttle Chateauneuf du Pape to drink over the next 10-15 years. Alain Corcia, the Burgundy negociant, ironically does most of his best work with his southern Cotes du Rhone selections. He has built a very nice portfolio of excellent values at the low end and some serious Chateauneuf du Papes (all named after his family members). The Chateauneuf du Papes are all aged in small traditional Burgundy barrels with no new oak, but the blends vary considerably. The wines, named after Alain Corcia’s children, wife, and father, are all produced in lots of about 250 cases. (10/10) 14% abv.
