An average of 30 year old wine (though in reality it likely averages much older), this solera was literally started in the late 18th century. In other words, Thomas Jefferson was still consolidating containers of French wine when this wine began its life! I can safely say that this is not only my favorite palo cortado, but it is also as provocative a wine as I have yet to taste. Completely dry, incredibly silky, and still showing that great combination of amontilllado like tang, oloroso richness, and loads of complex, nutty flavors. To say that it is a game changer is probably an understatement. Try a bottle and find out for yourself. 17/20 points Jancis Robinson: "Toasted nuts, ripe fruit, salty, long with a chewy texture."
