This comes from a single vineyard site in Monforte d'Alba, one of the most famous for the grape and from vines that average 60 to 65 years of age. This degree of age for Barbera is rare, and the result is fewer grapes per vine, and much more concentrated fruit. Super full bodied, with elegance and richness generally saved for the very best Nebbiolo-based wines of Piedmont. With its structure and acidity, this is fantastic with roast meats and braised beef dishes.
