2004 Reignac, Bordeaux Supérieur
Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar
Medium ruby. Superripe aromas of black raspberry, leather and smoke. Sweet, fat, broad and serious; big and mouthfilling. Chocolatey-rich and full of fresh fruit. Finishes with big, sweet tannins and building length. Reportedly from a yield of just 31 hectoliters per hectare, and partly fermented in barrels. Production of this consistent outperformer is now up to 20,000 cases.
Lots of blackberry aromas, with hints of cola. Medium-bodied, with a good core of tannins and a medium finish. Very well-done. Best after 2008. (Web-2007)
