The last vintage made by Philippe Gasqueton. Powerful, robust wine with an oaky aroma. A big success in '94 and sells for much less than the '95 or '96. According to Robert Parker: "Dark ruby-colored, with a closed, truffle-like aroma, this is a concentrated, stern, tannic wine that appears to have more weight than the 1993, but also more astringent tannin. It needs 2-3 years of cellaring. Anticipated maturity: 2000-2012. Last tasted 1/97." (01/98)
