This is produced from Sauvignon Blanc in the "garaf" section of Penedes, the area close to Sitges that is cooler, near protected forest land, and just a few kilometers from the Mediterranean. It is a wonderfully original expression, riper than most Sancerre (a good thing, in my opinion) but not to the point of becoming tropical or heavy (think Clos Roche Blanche Touraine). Farmed organically, this is expressvive sauvignon blanc, fermented with native yeasts and with a bare minimum of sulphur used. Rich, ripe stone fruits and citrus combine with just a hint of a multi vitamin quality. For a grape that is so often lackluster, this is a terrific rendition outside of its native habitat in the Loire. (Joe Manekin, K&L Spanish Wine Buyer)
