There's incredible depth of both flavor and texture in this golden icewine from Inniskillin. Initially, it's rich and creamy on the tongue with notes of honey, waxy florals and apple. Then, bright flashes of acidity bring forth tones of tangerine and Meyer lemon. Long and languorous on the finish, it's a gorgeous wine all around. (7/ 2011)
Amber-tinged golden yellow. Knockout aromas of honeyed pineapple, guava, passion fruit and crystallized ginger. Thick, rich and luscious, with extremely sweet flavors of ripe tropical fruit and honey. Harmonious acidity lifts and extends the rich flavors through the smooth finish, which features lingering floral and fruit cocktail notes. Very well done. (2/ 2012)
From the winery: "The outstanding quality of the 2007 Harvest provided much excitement leading into the winter and Icewine Harvest. Early January 2008 marked the beginning of the harvest and all was concluded by the end of January 2008. This relatively early harvest delivered top quality fruit with ideal sugar levels providing great concentration of flavours and strong acidity for optimum structure and balance. The 2007 Icewine Vintage will stand out as one of the best for overall quality. Inniskillin Icewine, recognized as one of the world's great wines, is truly winter's gift to wine lovers. Harvested at the pinnacle of Canada's crisp winter, the grapes are naturally frozen on the vine and picked when the temperature drops to -10°C. Only a few drops of luscious nectar can be squeezed from each bunch, which is then expertly guided through fermentation to achieve the rich and alluring specialty wine known as Icewine." 100% Vidal.
