The Petrus Gaia property traces back to the late 14th century. On July 15th 1740 it was documented that the mill, the farm and the surrounding property were known as Petrus. Do I smell a trademark infringement? The grapes for Petrus Gaia are all estate grown. The well known and highly esteemed Stéphane Derenoncourt has taken the reins here, and his hand is all overy this lovely focused and forward 2007, a blend of Merlot (85%) and Cabernet Franc (15%). Great value, too!
