91 points from the Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Shiraz was aged in American oak, 30% new. Purple/black in color, it delivers a nose filled with toasty, smoky, black raspberry, and blackberry aromas. Medium-bodied and elegant for a Barossa Shiraz, it has nicely concealed tannins, layers of flavor, and a long, pure finish. Give it 2-3 years to evolve and drink it through 2020." (Aug 2008) 90 points from the Wine Spectator: "So chocolaty that it's fair to ask if chocolate-coated barrels were used, but this is also rich and redolent of blackberry, dark plum and peppery spices. Tannins are present but well-integrated, and this finishes with a fine balance. Best from 2008 through 2015. 1,600 cases made."
