90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Chardonnay EQ was 90% barrel-fermented in 30% new oak and with a small amount of malolactic fermentation. It exhibits scents of minerality, pear, and white fruits as well as some toasty oak. Smooth and subtle on the palate, it has good flavors, integrated oak, and a moderately lengthy finish. Enjoy it over the next three years." Here is a wonderful value chardonnay from vineyards that are a mere 15 minute drive to the Pacific Ocean. In Chile's San Antonio Valley, the climate is ideal for growing cool climate varieties such as chardonnay. Though the wine has some clear new French oak influence, there is also a liveliness to this wine, which shows in the rich meyer lemon flavors and a wonderful acid balance. It is drinking terrifically and would make for a great addition to your value chard rotation.
