Étoile du Rhône was created by three friends who share a passion for wines of the Rhône Valley. Stephen Cronk, Tom Warner and winemaker Stéphane Vedeau. This 2008 Côtes du Rhône is composed of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah, and 10% Mourvèdre. The grapes come from around the village of Courthézon, where the soil is composed mainly of large pebbles. Each varietal is vinified and matured separately in traditional concrete vats for at least 8 months. The wine is matured in traditional concrete vats for at least 8 months. Loads of crushed red berry fruits, light spice, fine tannins and a lively acidity make for a serious overachieving Côtes du Rhône. Enjoy now and over the next several years with all manner of Mediterranean-inspired fare! 14.5% abv.
