Alvear Pedro Ximenez "Solera 1927" Montilla Moriles (375ml)

SKU #1059903 94 points Wine Enthusiast

*Top 100 Wines of 2012* A rank well above most PX sweeties, with lush but fresh aromas of raisin and spice that are distinctly not syrupy or heavy. Feels thick, but there’s enough acidity to cut through the wine’s weight. Flavors of caramel and chocolate are ideal, and the finish is smooth, not heavy, and has bounce in its step. A beautiful PX any way you cut it. (4/ 2012)

92 points Wine Spectator

Menthol and prune aromas and flavors highlight this intense, sweet dessert wine. It exhibits plenty of brightness and complexity, ending with butterscotch and bitter chocolate notes. Nicely put together. (Web Only-2008)

Jancis Robinson

The colour of pickled walnuts. Intense dark raisin and walnut flavours. Sweet but also nutty and silky and spicy notes on the long finish. *Good Value* 17.5/20 points. (12/ 2007)
