Listed in the Wine Spectator's Top 100 Wines of 2010. 90 points Wine Spectator: "A lovely floral, violet aroma leads the way, followed by good dark berry, tobacco and charcoal notes, with a dash of tarry grip on the finish. Pure and solid. Drink now through 2011." (10/10) So chewy and delicious, you might call this crunchy because the fruit is so ripe you can really sink your teeth into it! Super young, fresh and bright, this vintage features blackcurrant, blackberry, graphite, and licorice-like aromas and flavors. Chill it for a few minutes and get ready for pure delight. 14% abv.

This wine is always a hit with the customers and some staff. This wine is a 100% Syrah and has plenty of blackberry, spice, higher acidity than I remember than the last vintage with just a bit of bitterness on the finish. Great value!

I really appreciate how this wine displays ample ripeness and concentration but is kept in check by fresh acidity and tannin. Ripe black fruit with spice, bitter green finish. sausage nose emerges with air time. Little too bitter but i happen to have high tolerance for that flavor, I like fernet and Campari after all. Remeniscent of a spicy ripe cab franc. 89

Country:

France

- When it comes to wine, France stands alone. No other country can beat it in terms of quality and diversity. And while many of its Region, Bordeaux, Burgundy and Champagne most obviously, produce wine as rare, as sought-after and nearly as expensive as gold, there are just as many obscurities and values to be had from little known appellations throughout the country. To learn everything there is to know about French wine would take a lifetime. To understand and appreciate French wine, one only has to begin tasting them. Sub-Region:

Rhone

- Legendary wine-producing region in southeast France. Stereotypically speaking, Rhone wines are high in alcohol, and the majority produced is red. The northern Rhone is best known for outstanding 100% Syrah wines from areas such as Cote Rotie and Hermitage, as well as for fabulous white wines from Condrieu (where Viognier is king). In the southern Rhone, look for spicy, full-bodied wines that are blends of Grenache, Syrah, and other varietals coming from appellations such as Chateauneuf du Pape, Gigondas, or Rasteau. Wines labeled as Cote du Rhone or Cotes du Rhone Village (a cut above generic Cotes du Rhone) are frequently found here in the US because they often represent some of the best values on the market.
