92 points Wine & Spirits: "From the Groth family's estate vineyards, this has the lush fruit of a classic Oakville Cabernet. The structure is lean and firm, with purple and blueberry fruit running straight through it. Sleek mineral tannins keep it tight, revealing a profile that will expand over time in bottle." (02/11) Wow, what a marvelous balance of sugar/acidity/tannin with great aromatics/flavors! 2007 was a stunning vintage which has resulted in this wonderful wine showing gobs of intensity and complexity. Full, lush and very elegant, this is super tasty right off the bat, and will only get better over the next ten years. (from the winery) And from the Wine Spectator: "Rustic, displaying a loamy, earthy streak that runs through a tight mix of graphite, dried currant and herbal sage notes. Full-bodied, ending with drying tannins. Drink now through 2016." (10/10)
