No tasting note given. (12/ 2001)
Dense and concentrated, this bubbly delivers its flavors on a racy profile, with plenty of intensity. Picks up a ginger note toward the finish. Drink now through 2008. (10/ 2002)
Pear, peach, lemon zest and warmed nuts on the nose; showed soft citrus notes of orange and tangerine with aeration. Fresh, frothy and bright, with a fairly full dosage and strong fruit. A large-scaled Champagne, but strong acidity keeps it brisk and firm. Long, lemony aftertaste. Really blossomed in the glass. (12/ 2001)
The year 1995 was marked by a mild winter and a hot summer that, nevertheless, had frequent rains leading to a lot of concern about rot. Luckily, the late summer and early autumn were sunny, and lead to an almost universal vintage declaration. A magnum makes any occasion special, and this is no ordinary magnum of Champagne. This Champagne is composed of 58% Pinot Noir, 33% Chardonnay and 9% Meunier. With a white gold color and a very open nose of warm hazelnuts and honey, this is great Champagne to smell. It is equally open and very rich on the palate without being heavy. I disagree with the Wine Spectator, this wine is very zippy and fresh and still has time in hand to evolve. I would drink my magnums of this before 2020. (Gary Westby, K&L Champagne buyer)
