Allen Meadows - Burghound
Though very little time has passed since I reviewed this gorgeous effort in Issue 35, particularly in this larger format, nothing makes me question my initial review as the '07 Mouchère is a knock-out: An almost invisible touch of wood influence allows the elegant, ripe and ultra pure aromas of citrus blossom, spice and orchard fruit to have center stage while the focused, textured and almost painfully intense flavors culminate in a bone dry, silky and seriously long finish. In sum, this is a stunning wine of real class and grace where the balance is so good that it could be drunk now with pleasure, even from magnum though it will certainly repay longer-term aging if desired.

Knockout nose combines hazelnut oil, clove, iodine and minerals; comes across as less fruity and more austere than the 2008. Then wonderfully rich but youthfully closed in the mouth, combining terrific energetic minerality with captivating hints of stone and citrus fruits. A compellingly tactile, mineral wine with a sappy finish that excites the taste buds.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
From his estate's monopole within Perrieres, Henri Boillot’s 2007 Puligny-Montrachet Clos de la Mouchere displays aromas of white peach, apricot, musk melon, and grapefruit. Ripely-fruited and creamily-textured on the palate, this achieves an invigorating grip in its finish thanks to fruit skin, citrus zest, chalk dust, brown spices, and pepper. This outstanding union of richness with energy and refreshment should be worth following for 6-8 years.
