The nose is biscuity, caramel-like, cream Sherry-like with a touch of cheese-like rancio. The palate entry tastes like bittersweet dark chocolate, cocoa butter, chocolate-covered raisins and dark honey; the midpalate is fruity and less bittersweet than the entry, making for a succulent aftertaste. This is beautiful, soft and elegant brandy that shows brooding notes of cocoa, roasted nuts and baking spices. The dried fruit really comes through on the mid-palate and the finish is a burst of cinnamon with a silky smooth exit. To get a 25 year Armagnac for this price is already a great deal, but to have it taste this good is practically criminal. Made by the Delord family who have been making this spirit since the late 1800s.
