96 points Robert Parker: "A fabulous effort, the 2007 Chardonnay Walker Station is one of the top Chardonnays of the vintage. Sadly, this will be the final vintage of this offering as the old vines from which it was produced were torn out. It offers notes of unbuttered popcorn, white peaches, quince, mango, and brioche in a full-bodied, fresh, lively yet substantial style. With terrific intensity as well as a long (over 35 seconds) finish, this brilliant Chardonnay should evolve for 7-8 years." (02/10) 93 points Wine Spectator: "Smooth, rich and concentrated, with deep pear, fig and melon fruit shaded by a touch of toasty oak and butterscotch, ending with a long, persistent finish. Drink now through 2013." (11/090 90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Light chartreuse color. Ripe melon and white peach aromas are complicated by smoky lees and floral honey. Broad, fleshy cantaloupe and pit fruit flavors are braced by zesty minerals and given a bitter edge by a hint of apple skin. The smoky note repeats on the long, lightly chewy finish. Richer than the basic bottling but a bit less graceful. This is all Wente clone." (May/June 09)
