Made from 100% Montana grown barley, this young whiskey is an expression that resembles both single malt and American rye. The aromas are peppery and youthful, but lingering on the background is the cereal and malty smell that one finds in Scotch whisky. The golden honey color is deceiving because the flavors are full of new wood. The palate is rich and round despite the fact that it is brimming with pepper and herbs. The finish is slightly sweet and makes you want to jump right back in for more. Think Old Potrero meets Highland.
