90 points Robert Parker: "A renaissance is taking place at this estate, managed by the sister of Gerard and Dominique Becot, the proprietors of Beau-Sejour-Becot. The 2001 is dense, exuberant, fleshy, and flamboyant, exhibiting a dense ruby/purple color along with rich layers of blackberry and cherry fruit, plenty of toasty new oak, and an uncomplicated, in-your-face style that will receive a lot of attention. Cynics may think it is too internationally styled, but there is a lot going on. Enjoy it over the next decade." (06/01)
