This is an amazing vatting, which was aged as a vatted malt from 1990 until bottling. Normally vatted malts are blends of aged whiskies which are vatted, bottled and sold immediately. This was vatted, then aged again in bourbon barrels for 15 years. The youngest whisky in the blend in 19 years old and the flavor is fantastic. Beautiful mixture of toffee, caramel, succulent dried fruit, and spice. It has hints of both Speyside with faint notes of spice that creep in like the spirit of Islay. I was very impressed and so was my whisky-loving manager Alex Brisoux. This will also be in stock as of Wednesday. Oh...as to what's in it? Try 19 year old Dalmore, 21 year old Fettercairn, and 25 year old Ardbeg. Crazy? Crazy freaking good. -David Driscoll, K&L Spirits Buyer
