92-95 points Robert Parker: "The full-bodied 2007 St.-Joseph Les Granits exhibits sweet black currant fruit, camphor, rock, and exotic Asian spice characteristics. With slightly less density and weight than the 2006, it should drink nicely for 10-15 years." (04/09) 93 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Glass-staining ruby. Intensely perfumed aromas of black raspberry, potpourri and Asian spices, with smoked meat and anise nuances. Really alluring on the palate, with a silky texture to the sweet red and dark berry flavors. Picks up an exotic candied flower quality on the back end to go with notes of sweet red fruit and violet pastille. This is delicious right now." (Jan/Feb 2010) 92 points Wine Spectator:" This has depth for the vintage, with plum sauce, violet, blackberry and mulled cherry notes laced with incense and graphite. The long finish has a nice velvety feel, with a buried iron note buried. Drink now through 2012." (04/10)
