94 points Wine Enthusiast and a Cellar Selection: "A deeply impressive Bordeaux blend. It comes from this small, but prestigious, appellation, which is a bridge between Sonoma County and Napa Valley. Marked by dryness and a superb tannic structure, it has deep flavors of blackberries, black currants, violets, herbs and cedar. Needs time. Give it 4-6 years in the cellar." The 2006 Bella's Blend combines 63% Cabernet Sauvignon and 18.5% each Cabernet Franc and Merlot from the Bavarian Lion Vineyards in Sonoma County's Knights Valley. Aged in 33% new French oak barrels, this 400-case production wine has warming notes of cinnamon and nutmeg on the nose, to complement scents of black cherries and plums. The wine's dry, firm structure keep the sweet blackberry and currant fruit on the palate from going over the top, and the underlying savory herb element and cedar notes on the finish round everything out. A lovely, tightly-knit wine that will reward with some time in the cellar.
