93 points Wine Enthusiast and an Editors' Choice: "This 100% Cab shows all the hallmarks of an ageable wine. But it's beautiful now for the complexity of the tannins and the elegant integration of blackberry and black currant fruit with oak. A dramatic, impressive wine that shows you don't have to spend a lot of money for a terrific California Cab. Now-2012." (2/1/2010) If you like you're Cabs big, then drink this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Bavarian Lion Vineyards in the Knights Valley while it's young. If you prefer a little more nuance, give the 70% new French oak, firm tannins and solid acidity some time to integrate and soften in your cellar. Regardless, whenever you drink this wine, you'll be impressed by its layers of black currant and plum fruit, its exotic vanilla notes and fragrant violet underpinning. A spectacular (and affordable) example of what Knights Valley is all about.
