90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. Alto Almanzora is located in Andalucia, the southeast part of Spain. It is an ancient region cultivated throughout history by the Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans and Muslims. Under the supervision of consulting winemaker Rafael Palacios, who has done a host of consulting for some of Ribera del Duero's top properties, this blend of Monastrell, Tempranillo, Garnacha, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot hits the mark for new garde flavors framed in a classic style. It has blueberry, graphite, notes of lavender, spice and a touch of wood smoke. This is a silky, forward effort that is immediately pleasing but does not over-reach with ripeness. A perfect wine for everyday drinking. (Keith Mabry, K&L Hollywood)
