2008 Ermacora Refosco (Previously $20)

SKU #1054140

Refosco is an indigenous varietal to Friuli with a long history in the area. Revered by the likes of Pliny the Elder, and our K&L staff. Ermacora's is lush with bright cherry and dark berry, hints of coffee with soft tannin, notes of spice and gravel and eminently drinkablity.

Talk about a great food wine. This has high acid to combat any food style, plus a full body with hints of hazelnuts and plums. Get me a plate of Peking duck!

Just opened after a night of Christmas shopping, and am very pleased to say that this was a nice surprise. Very drinkable, and not overpowering, with very soft tones, making it an excellent partner to the rewarmed leftovers. Too tired to complain, yet anxious enough for a good wine, it did not disappoint. It was recommended to replace a Rosso no longer available, it's safe to say that this will be a re-order!
