92 points and an Editors' Choice, Wine Enthusiast: "Verve continues to rock with their new Syrah. Fire up the barbie with steak or pork chops to eat with this lusty, full-bodied red wine. It's dry and tannic, with rich, complex flavors of blackberries, black currants, pepper and a sweet, salty meaty note, like the char on a broiled steak." (12/31/2009) Many of today's California Syrah are overpriced and one-dimensional. This effort from Aubin Cellars is not one of them. A big bright Syrah with a nice balance of black fruit and pepper, with rich and round tannins. The mid-palate explodes with layers of flavors from dry cured meat to a hint of mocha. A beautiful effort from a longtime K&L favorite. (Mike Jordan, K&L Wine Merchants)
