Kuchan Indian Blood Peach Eau De Vie 375ml

SKU #1053965

From newly established Old World Spirits in local Belmont, CA, Croatian-born master distiller Davorin Kuchan has brought his family tradition of craft spirits to the Bay Area. All the fruit in this brandy comes from Placerville's Apple Hill and are all Indian Blood peaches - a variety that is difficult to sell as produce because it splits easily. However, the Indian Blood peaches are incredibly flavorful and as the base for fermentation, they really come through in the spirit. The aromas are delicate, but unmistakably peachy and the pure flavor carries over to the flavor on the palate as well. This is very good eau de vie. (David Driscoll, K&L Spirits Buyer) From the Beverage Tasting Institute: "93 Points. Clear with a silvery cast. Effusive, dimension, and earthy dried peach aromas and flavors with a satiny fruity-yet-dry medium-full body and a long, smooth, peach blossom, limestone, and honey yogurt accented finish." Drinking the Kuchan Peach Eau De Vie is a wonderful way to top off a dinner or have a light drink earlier in the evening. It has bright fresh stone fruit aromas and a nice soft peachy flavor. There is a hint of alcohol that one finds is eau de vies but it is not strong and unpleasant. The Kuchan Peach Eau De Vie is dry and subtle, somewhat delecate, and an excellent and delicious spirit.

I grew up in the outer suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia. On an oppressively humid, sticky summer day after playing outside, nothing seemed to replenish the body and quench thirst like a big, hearty, ripe peach. Bit into it and the bold flavors of the flesh strike your palate as the sticky juice trickles down the sides of your mouth. Kuchan Indian Blood Peach eau de vie reminds me of those delicious peaches....maybe the "peachiness" is even more intense and focused with the eau de vie! There is so much ripe, juicy fruit on the nose and palate, it's hard not to be transported back to sweet childhood memories. No heat in this spirit either. It glides smoothly down the gullet. A masterpiece!
