92-95 points Allen Meadows' Burghound: "This is one of those wines where you can sense the sheer depth of material simply based on the nose as the very dense fruit displays additional hints of stone, tidal pool, algae, oyster shell and a mix of green fruit and white flower aromas that give way to concentrated, serious and rich flavors that are actually quite fine before culminating in an explosively long and palate staining finish. A terrific wine that could easily pass for a grand cru." (10/09) 92-95 points Stephen Tanzer: "Bright yellow-green. Crushed stone, metallic minerality, lime, mint and pepper on the captivating nose. Big and rich but with great energy to the citrus and powdered stone flavors. Offers an almost painful combination of volume and pungent freshness. This round, tactile, fine-grained wine really perks up the taste buds on the very long, vibrant finish. This cuvee was previously labeled Fourchaume "Vignoble de Vaulorent" but because Vaulorent, situated on classic Kimmeridgian marl soil just behind Les Preuses, is markedly different from the rest of Fourchaume, Fevre has decided simply to label this wine Vaulorent. Winemaker Seguier refers to this climat as "the eighth grand cru" (forgetting La Moutonne, of course)." (Jul/Aug 09) ETA: 04/30/10
