According to the Wine Spectator: "Intense and vibrant, with a supple core of currant, black cherry and wild berry fruit that's shaded by light cedary, toasty oak and a whiff of anise. The tannins are ripe and fine-grained and it offers a good measure of depth and complexity. Drink now through 2012." (11/05) And, according to Stephen Tanzer: "Dark, bright red. Deep, smoky aromas of dark fruits, licorice, and leather, with a whiff of meaty reduction. Suave in texture, with a restrained sweetness to the redcurrant and cherry pit flavors. Smooth and fine-grained in texture but distinctly dry and a bit youthfully unforthcoming today. The wine's growing sweetness with aeration and lush palate feel suggest that it may reward aging." (Sept/Oct '06) This is the wine to drink now. Thre is a heady bouquet of roast meats and earth with medium-firm tannins and full body, but not in the extreme. There's classic Cabernet fruit under the richly flavored cherry fruit. A really fine drink, and a nod to the quality of Kathryn Kennedy's fruit. (Joe Z, K&L Wine Merchants)
