Attila Gere has been building his winery into one of the top estates in Hungary. It is located in the southern part of the country in the premium red wine region Villany. Here Gere produces his flagship wines Kopar and Solus. Both are testaments to the fact that Hungary can produce excellent red cuvees on par with Bordeaux, and for considerable more bang for the (albiet considerble) buck! For more than a decade Gere's KOPAR has defined the top shelf of contemporary Hungarian wine making. 52% Cabernet Franc, 46% Merlot and only 2% Cabernet Sauvignon. Only made in the finest years with the selected grapes of the premium slopes of Villány (Kopár, Csillagvölgy, Konkoly).
