2008 Domaine de Montrabech Vin de Pays d'Oc Blanc

SKU #1051379

This is a charming blend of 55% grenache blanc and 45% muscat petits grains. Gorgeous floral aromatics and tropical nuances that are never overwhelmed by its muscat nature, this is a dry white wine with nerve and harmony and a fresh vibrant nature about it. Serve as an aperitif with cured meats, soft cheeses and fresh fruit or just sip on a warm afternoon. Fans of viognier and Argentina's torrontes will find great pleasure in this special value. This wine is "da bomb, yo." Who would've thought that a 55% Grenache Blanc and 45% Muscat Petits Grains wine would be so great? Especially at this price! This wine has it all for me. It's floral and aromatic. It has body but is light on its feet. It's dry but has a slight, slight hint of sweetness. It's like that great motion picture that makes you laugh, then cry, then makes you want more. More please!

You can definetely notice the Muscat presence in this wine, but the white flowers and a touch of lanolin tell us there's something else... Grenache Blanc. And that's a beautiful marriage! The nose of grapes and orange flowers leads us to a perfectly dry palate, and that is the magic of this wine. Flamboyant nose and a restrained palate. Reminiscent of Alsace, besides being made hundreds of miles away to the south. Fun for an apperitif, with tapas, Mexican food, Salade Niçoise, artichokes & asparagus, Bouillabaisse.

Lovely. This is springtime in a glass, like a lighter, more subtle Torrontes. Nice QPR 87
