96 points and #5 on the Wine Spectator's Top 100 Wines of 2009: "Shows amazing aromas of blackberry, with hints of vanilla and flowers, along with black licorice and crushed berries. Full-bodied, with wonderfully caressing, ultrafine tannins. Very balanced. Goes on for minutes. The best ever from this producer. Best after 2011." (10/09) According to Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Chianti Classico Brolio is a rich, weighty Chianti packed with dark fruit. The wine possesses good depth and volume in a ripe, fruit-driven style that is likely to provide its greatest drinking pleasure over the next few years. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2012." (08/09) And, from the Wine Enthusiast: "Here is 100% Sangiovese that reaches unbelievable extraction and thickness. The results are meaty and chewy with thick aromatic layers of plump cherries, chocolate, tobacco, moist earth and oaky spice. The mouthfeel is lively and vibrant with lingering tones of barbecue on the finish." (09/08) ETA: June 2010.
