91 points Wine Spectator: "Wild and brawny, with pepper, tobacco and crushed olive notes leading the way for bacony toast, braised beef and roasted plum flavors. The long, muscular finish has good flesh and drive. A rare sauvage-styled Syrah from Argentina. Drink now through 2011." (07/09) Very deeply pitched, dark fruit aromas here - black currants confiture and cassis aromas predominate. The initial palate impression is dark, brooding, penetrating fruit. As it opens up in the glass, this Syrah shows explosive blue and black fruits, with a prominent black cherry note. The flavors grow fresher with every sip. This is a seriously good value that should impress California syrah drinkers who are used to paying significantly more for wine of this quality. (Joe Manekin, K&L South American wine buyer)
