North Shore Gin No. 11

SKU #1049705

Very, very limited quantity! Get it while you can. K&L spirits buyer David Driscoll calls it the best gin he has ever tasted...ever. The botanicals in North Shore's No. 11 Gin add fullness without taking away from the leading role of the juniper berries. The balance is remarkable and lends itself well to classic cocktails from a time when gin was king. When it was first released this gin was available exclusively to restaurants and bars. But after numerous requests from consumers who had No. 11 at their favorite dining spots, North Shore was kind enough to allow us to carry it. 94 points and a Gold Medal/Exceptional Rating - Beverage Testing Institute, 2008 Tasting notes: "Clear. Dense, compacted aromas of honeycomb, lime soufflé, peppery juniper, and sweet spices. A soft, silky entry leads to a fruity medium-full of citrus custard pasty, pink peppercorns, fresh herbs, and honeyed juniper berries. Finishes with an long interplay of flavor with a touch of eucalyptus and minerals. A lovely, deeply flavorful, and elegantly styled gin that will be sensational in vintage cocktails."

It's always hard to decide what to take home at night and everyone here is all to eager to throw out their two cents. Driscoll is always the loudest so I ended up with a bottle of this and a four pack of Fever Tree Tonic. I'm a sucker for packaging so I wasn't thrilled about bringing this bottle home, but the second I opened this bottle I was in enveloped with sweet, fresh juniper, pink peppercorn...I was swooning. Thanks David!

After trying, and falling in love with, the No. 6 North Shore I was taken to another level of gin and tonic heaven with the No. 11! Yes, this special, rare gin can take it up a notch to 11, even when other gins are buzzing away happily at 10. I bought two bottles the other night, stocking up to make sure there will be enough to go around all holiday season for my family members to try.

Don't hesitate when you see this gin in stock, it is very small production and quite sought after. The last batch all sold before touching the shelf! The number 11 has a relaxed exoticism that reminds me of Hendricks, with a dry refreshing streak that only the Junipero can equal. The balance is fabulous, and combined with a lime from our dwarf tree, a glass full of ice and a splash of tonic, I was in after-work-cocktail heaven.

- When people consider domestic wine, they normally think about the state of California. The fine viticultural Region within California, including the Napa Valley, Sonoma, Santa Cruz Mountains, Mendocino and Santa Barbara, are capable of growing grapes of world-class quality. But there's plenty of fabulous wine coming from other states, too. Oregon, Washington and New York are also causing eyebrows (and glassware) to be raised around the world.
