91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright ruby-red. Black raspberry and candied cherry on the nose, with subtle smoked meat, baking spice and floral qualities. Sharply focused red and dark berry flavors gain weight and sweetness with air and pick up vanilla and cola notes. Silky tannins carry through a long, sweet finish, which leaves a strong berry note behind." (Sept/Oct '08) 90 points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Almoroig was sourced from 60- to 80-year-old estate vineyards and aged for 12 months in new French and Hungarian oak. Dark ruby-colored, the wine is very perfumed with lots of spice, violets, mineral, blueberry, and black cherry. This leads to a full-bodied, forward, seamless, ripe wine with excellent balance and depth. It can be enjoyed now and over the next 6 years." (02/08) A unqiue blend of Monastrell, Giró (Garnatxa del país) and Garnatxa Tintorera.
