This is a wonderful wine for those that are looking for a nice medium bodied wine that has some round fruit and is balanced out with mild acidity. The L'Attilon is made from organic grapes and is a easy and pleasant wine to drink. This wine is also for people who are not necessarily fans of Merlot but who want a dry wine that can be enjoyed alone or with food.

A wonderful introduction to French Merlot at a more than amazing price! Lots of Black Currant fruit and spices like coffee, mocha, cloves, with a smoky woody finish. If your tired of drinking overpriced California Merlot then give this a try, you will be pleasantly surprised! It wont last for long!

This little bargain is 100% organic and 100% delicious. No oak is used here so the blackberry and ripe plum fruit really shine. There is a complex floral note that adds complexity to the juicy middle and smooth finish. Super easy to drink and food friendly.

Lucky, lucky vinegrowers from this part of the south of France enjoy the perfect conditions for organic viticulture. Sandy soils over well drained Rhone gravel, breezy evenings and a long dry growing season mean that Domaine de l'Attilon have been certified organic for 30 years - they can get away with being careful when tending the vines, nature takes care of any potential vineyard pests. And the wine is just lovely, everyday drinking red, perfect to sip with a bite to eat after work.

In this day and age of 95+ point "rocket juice", it's easy to forget that wine is first and foremost a thirst quenching beverage that's meant to accompany and accent a nice Tuesday night meal. This is just what this little wine is all about; bright raspberry fruit with some hints of spice and perfume, soft yet zesty. A reliable dance partner for a simple grilled chicken and rice pilaf. And with the 8 dollar price tag, you can still afford to take a "passegiare" (Italain for the after dinner evening stroll) out to your local Pinkberry for the world's most expensive frozen yougurt for dessert. Additional Information:

Varietal:

Merlot

- A very popular red grape variety found in the great wines of St. Emilion and Pomerol. It is the most planted variety in Bordeaux, and it has also become an extremely fashionable red in many regions including California. Although it has a reputation to be smooth, and easy to drink when young, Merlot is also capable of producing extremely intense wines as well. It is often used as a blending agent with Cabernet Sauvignon.
Country:

France

- When it comes to wine, France stands alone. No other country can beat it in terms of quality and diversity. And while many of its Region, Bordeaux, Burgundy and Champagne most obviously, produce wine as rare, as sought-after and nearly as expensive as gold, there are just as many obscurities and values to be had from little known appellations throughout the country. To learn everything there is to know about French wine would take a lifetime. To understand and appreciate French wine, one only has to begin tasting them. Sub-Region:

Provence

- Provence encompasses the southeastern portion of France that borders the Mediterranean. The largest appellation in the region is the Cotes de Provence that spans 49,600 acres of land in and around Marseilles. Thirteen different varietals are grown in this appellation with the most important grapes being Carignan, Cinsault, Grenache, and Mouvedre. While much of the production is dry rose, there are many more serious wines being made from the area. Some of the most important smaller appellations within Provence include Bandol, Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence, and Coteaux Varois.
