This mouthful of a brewery is one of only a handful or true Trappist producers, meaning the brewery is located in a Trappist monastery. Brouwerij der St.Benedictusabdij de Achelse, located in the Achel monastery in Belgium, restored its beer making facilities in 1998 and only started to sell bottled ale commercially in 2004. The Blond is a golden ale, well balanced with spicy hops and a crisp biscuity malt finish. Ideal as a beer of quiet contemplation.
