A powerhouse from one of the Napa Valley's most esteemed producers. The fruit for the SB comes from the Phelps' Spring Valley Ranch just outside St. Helena. Barrel-fermented and aged for 10 months in a combination of new and one- to three-year-old French oak barrels and stainless steel (12%). The aromatics tend toward the Ruby red grapefruit and kaffir lime leaf, while the palate is spicy with hints of citrus blossom, toast and melon fruit.
