The Ebenauer winery has been in the town of Poysdorf for generations, but when Marion Ebner married in, the name reflected the change. Both she and her husband make the wines under the Ebner-Ebenauer label, while Marion continues to do her Melusine project on the side. The liter Gruner is a snappy little firecracker of a wine, brisk and bracing, classic Pfefferl white-pepper snap, solid fruit impression and a very satisfying length - very fine for its class. Fresh as a slap across the face, bright as the morning sun and clean as a glacial lake. This light-bodied Gruner Veltliner from the Austrian winery Ebner-Ebenauer makes music with its layers of fruit notes and tickles you with perky acidity. The Gruner is your answer to the heat of a long summer day as well as to the artichoke's refusal to pair with anything. The Gruner is a wine that is on your side while everyone else is not."
