2004 Il Marroneto "Madonna delle Grazie" Brunello di Montalcino (Pre-Arrival)
95 points Wine Spectataor: "Cherry, dried raspberry and ripe strawberry aromas follow through to a full body, with chewy tannins that are polished and pretty. Long and fruity finish. Reserved now, but shows excellent potential. Best after 2010. 500 cases made." (Web Only, 2009) 5 stars from K&L's Italian wine buyer, Greg St. Clair: "The Madonna delle Grazie is always a powerful wine, with incredible structure, and a long, long, life ahead. The particular elegance of this vintage gives this normally HUGELY POWERFUL wine a chance to relax, be supple, subtle and ultimately soaring. This is one of the top 5 wines of the vintage. It comes from the versante Senese the north slope under the town, vines of 40+ years in a small parcel and made in a truly storico (classic) style. This wine is full of fruit and aromatics but that isn't what you see first, the tightly wound structure holds in the violets, lilac, wild cherry and will slowly release it over time. The biggest part of this wines flavor is terroir, sweet earth, animal a wild, gamey seductiveness that layers itself from the wines bottom up, stratifying the layers with bold sweetness and accents of spice and herb. This wine is a classic and has a great, long future ahead of it but your patience will certainly will repay the wait. 525 cases produced "
