Oregon's Hair of the Dog Brewing Company has the cure for what ails you. Their "Doggie Claws" West Coast style Barleywine is a copper-colored brew that comes in at a whopping 11.5% alcohol. Made in September and October, this beer is meant to age like regular wine, developing complexity with time in the bottle. Big on malt and hop flavors, with hints of winter citrus, pine resin and dates, according to a review in the Beer Advocate, along with honey-like notes. Smooth.
Below is a listing of the wine review scores we frequently reference in our notes. While these sources remain an excellent source of information, we always recommend that you trust your own palate. Scores in these publications often represent the personal taste of an individual critic, which may not always coincide with your own.
