90-92 points Robert Parker: "The 2007 Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a blend of 90% Grenache and 10% Syrah from the clay and sandy soil sectors of the appellation and completely aged in cement tanks. It has a dense ruby/purple color and a brilliant nose of blue and black fruits, camphor, licorice, as well as incense and white flowers. It is ripe, full-bodied, with superb fruit freshness and purity, and overall, a full-bodied equilibrium that is extremely vibrant and fresh. This is a beauty to drink over the next 10-15 years." (10/08) 87-90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright ruby. Deep, smoky aromas of dark berries and singed cherry, with licorice and iron notes adding complexity. Sappy blackberry, cassis and cola flavors are firmed by gentle mineral qualities and dusty tannins. On the serious side today: I look forward to trying this again next year and suspect it will be sweeter and more energetic." (Jan/Feb '09) ETA Fall of 2009.
