2007 Huët "Le Clos de Bourg" Vouvray Sec
The Clos du Bourg vineyard has produced a concentrated wine, definitely dry, but with richness rounding it out magnificently. The texture is tight, flavors of ripe apples and cream surrounded by dense, complex mineral, almond and spice. Age for at least 7–10 years.
We are very pleased to offer you this selection from one of the premier producers of Chenin Blanc in the Loire Valley, if not the world. Maison Huet has been a leading force in the Vouvray appellation for quite some time now. Founded in 1928, the estate now covers 35 hectares, which are divided among three properties: Le Mont, Le Haut-Lieu and Le Clos du Bourg have been farmed biodynamically since 1990. These wines are stunning and are worth being in your cellar. Legends in the making here! Le Clos du Bourg is six-hectare vineyard site completely surrounded by a stone wall and just above the church in Vouvray. The soils here are fairly thin, roughly three feet deep, and layered directly on top of non-active limestone. The resulting wines are loaded with structure and power, with unreal textural sensation, vibrant acidity and a long, long finish.
