93 points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Shiraz Baroota comes from the Southern Flinders Ranges, the newest and most northerly GI of South Australia and is considered a warm climate region. It was sourced from vines at least 30 years of age and aged in French and American hogsheads, 25% new. Purple-colored, it offers a slightly reticent nose of smoke, toast, tar, licorice, blueberry, and blackberry. Ripe, sweet, and layered in the mouth, this medium to full-bodied plump wine is nicely balanced and has a long, fruit-filled finish. It can be enjoyed now and over the next 10-12 years. " (12/05) 90 points Wine Spectator: "Big and densely packed, with a chewy core of fresh raspberry and pomegranate fruit that pushes through the texture and keeps singing on the long finish. Best from 2010 through 2015." (12/08)
