Vermentino here, though you wouldn't know it looking at the bottle. This is the same green grape as Rolle, as it's called in France, and Malvoisie de Corse, in parts of Corsica. Whatever the name, this white from Rhone native Michel Raoust is spectacularly different from most whites you've tried, whether Italian, French or Corsican. It offers a fascinating smoky note, with a round feel in the mouth and a very tasty herb character. It tastes a little bit wild, and is the perfect foil for fish and seafood cooked outdoors. 13% abv.
